JOHNSBURG – Three people were injured following an intersection collision north of Johnsburg Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Mower County Sheriff’s Department, a pickup truck driven by Larry Edward Ehret, 61 of Rose Creek, collided with an automobile driven by Dean Leslie Adams, 64 of Stacyville, Iowa, and containing a passenger, Leslie Weber, 64 of Stacyville, Iowa.

The Adams Ambulance Service and Adams Fire Department and Rescue Squad responded to the accident at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday.

The Adams volunteers used their jaws of life extrication equipment to remove Adams and Weber, who were pinned in the automobile.

The pair were transferred to an area hospital by the Adams Area Ambulance Service. Ehret did not require immediate medial attention, according to the Mower County Sheriff’s Department accident report, but later sought attention on his own accord.

According to the accident report, Ehret’s pickup truck was westbound on Mower County No. 7, when it struck the Adams’ vehicle at the intersection with County No. 5.

Money missing

The Austin Police Department is investigating the theft of $11,467 believed to have been stolen from an Austin landlord, John Ernst.

According to the police report, Ernst reported the theft to police this week when he became aware of missing funds from his bank account.

Ernst operates his rental properties business from an office location at 1600 Sixth St. SW.

The thefts occurred between Jan. 1 and Wednesday, according to Ernst’s complaint.

Evidence has been turned over to the Mower County attorney for review.
