Northern Country Co-op employee Debbie Wilson watches Monday as a truck from Barnhart Crane and Rigging of Nashville, Tenn., moves a turbine through Browndsdale on its route from Austin to the site of the Great River Energy’s new power plant near Sargeant. State troopers closed Highway 56 to allow the 18-axled, approximately 120-foot long tractor-trailer combination to pass. The rig travels at a rate of 15 mph and the trip from Austin to Sargeant takes about eight hours.
