On July 1, he will become parish administrator in North St. Paul. Hereford has been with Pacelli since the 1997-98 school year; he previously worked with the Sheriff’s Youth Ranch near Hayward.

Hereford’s new position is not directly linked to education. The Portland, Ore., native will be serving the Diocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis. Duties will include administration of personnel and buildings, among other things. He, wife Vicki and three daughters, Elizabeth, 12, Kathryn, 9, and Jessie, 4, will be relocating to the Twin Cities after he wraps up things at Pacelli over the next few weeks.

Although Hereford is currently out of town and was unavailable for comment, Pacelli School Board Chairwoman Jan Baldus confirmed that the principal was not asked to resign, rather he resigned to take the position in the Twin Cities.

The board has formed a search committee that will be taking applications for the principal’s position for the next several weeks.
