Wednesday night is it – the final cuts will be announced, and the hard wrangling of the Austin Public School board and superintendent will be over.

For the past several weeks, they have been wrestling with a budget that was tight to begin with, which needed close to $755,000 trimmed from it.

Austin’s citizens are encouraged to go toWednesday’s meeting, to be held 3:30 at Ellis Middle School. See the elected board members at work. These are people the citizens voted for.

Not long ago there was significant turnover on the board, with big changes promised. Go and make sure the changes delivered with this painful series of cuts are ones that Austin’s voters can live with.
