It won’t be the first time Beki Hemingway and Jonathan Rudman have met for a night of tunes in Austin.

"They don’t actually play together under normal circumstances," Buzz’s owner, Mark Nagle, said, "but I think maybe they should consider it. They really complement each other."

As they should. The two are friends from down Chicago way and have known each other for years.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press called Hemingway one of the "most overlooked pop maestros" and Nagle agreed, but with reservations.

"It’s catchy like pop, but not silly pop, if you know what I mean," he said.

Music starts at 7:30 tonight and will finish around 10 p.m. There is no charge for admission, although tips for the musicians are encouraged and both will have CDs for sale.
