Horsman was picked up in Albert Lea late Tuesday evening on traffic charges.

In his possession was a syringe, plus a drug believed to be methamphetamine.

Horsman, 21, formerly of Wykoff but most recently living in Austin, was wanted by the Austin Police Department after a raid on a methamphetamine lab along 10th Drive Southeast in Austin in early October.

In that raid of a garage where authorities believe the drug was being manufactured, Austin police officers netted drug paraphernalia and other materials, but Horsman escaped.

According to Police Chief Paul M. Philipp, Horsman will remain in the Freeborn County Jail on charges brought against him there. When they are adjudicated, he will be returned to Mower County to face additional charges here.

Check altered

The Austin Police Department is investigating a case involving the apparent alteration of a check, involving local Cub Scouts of America packs.

According to a police report, CSA Pack No. 102 was supposed to receive a check from the Austin Elks Club in the amount of $500. The check was the Elks Club’s payment for bingo services rendered by the CSA organization.

When the check arrived at district scouting headquarters, it had been altered to be paid to the account of CSA Pack No. 121.

Police detectives are investigating the incident. No charges have yet been filed.

Dominoes burgled

Domino’s Pizza was burglarized and money taken from a cash drawer.

According to an Austin Police Department report, the business at the intersection of South Main St. and 1st Ave. SW was entered sometime between 12:01 a.m. and 9:25 a.m. Tuesday.

An employee discovered the window on a rear door broken and a cash drawer missing. Some of the items were later discovered near the business, but $200 in receipts and $40 in Austin Area Chamber of Commerce "Chamber Bucks" are missing.
