Lang named to All-MIAC first team

Austin High School graduate Bobbi Jo Lang was honored as a member of the All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team.

Lang, a freshman defenseman for the Gusties, was second in the MIAC in scoring by a defenseman and seventh in the league in scoring by a freshman. She ranked 23rd in the conference with 15 points and 21st with seven goals.

The Gusties finished the season with a 23-5-2 overall record, defeating Bowdoin 2-1 to take third place in the NCAA Division III National Championships March 9 in Elmira, N.Y. Gustavus Adolphus advanced to the NCAA Tournament with an at-large bid, yet advanced to the semifinals before losing to the host team and eventual D-III champion Elmira.

Lang played in all 30 games for Gustavus this year. She led the team in plus-minus (+39), was tied for sixth on the team in goals (11), and ranked fourth with three power-play goals. She scored three game-winning goals this season.
