The Southern Minny Stars scored five runs in their final two at bats at home against Grand Forks to win 5-3, ending a seven-game slide.

The Channel Cats committed six errors in the final two innings, leading to all of the Stars’ runs. Nick Iovacchini and Tommy Maestas collected RBIs in the Stars’ three-run seventh.

Joe Sprengard started for the Stars, working six strong innings. He gave up five hits, three walks and a lone run on Jeff Johnson’s solo homer. He struck out nine.

Graham Martin picked up the win in relief, pitching two scoreless innings. Aaron Zehnal got the save, despite allowing the Channel Cats’ final two runs in the ninth.

The Stars rapped 10 hits off of Grand Forks’ Joe Kjose, who went the distance and picked up the loss. Iovacchini, Rob Douglas, Kyle Thomas and Mike Lorsbach all collected two hits for the Stars.
