MANKATO — Mankato police suspect the shooting deaths of a couple were a murder-suicide.

Fifty-six-year-old Delbert Wilson and his 54-year-old wife, Barbara Ann Wilson, were found dead in their home Thursday night.

The Mankato Department of Public Safety says a preliminary investigation shows that Delbert Wilson shot Barbara Wilson before shooting himself.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension assisted in the investigation. The bodies were taken to the Ramsey County medical examiner’s office for autopsies.

Neighbors tell The Free Press of Mankato the Wilsons were married about a year ago.
