Police officers responded to a possible burglary in progress on the 1200 block of Fifth Street Northwest at 12:28 a.m. on Saturday.

The reporting person said they saw someone enter the downstairs apartment through the basement window, according to Police Chief Brian Krueger.

Officers found a window half way open when they arrived. They cleared the basement apartment and a first floor apartment but did not find anyone.

Officers made contact with the renter and was told to contact the police department if anything was missing.
