There will be a tryout for boys interested in playing Austin VFW Post 1216 baseball in Austin this summer. The tryout, which will be held April 30 and May 1 at Marcusen Park, is open to Austin area boys who are 16 and under as of May 31, 2016.  The ballplayer must have been born on or after June 1, 1999.

The tryout will go from 8 to 11 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. with registration starting at 7:30 a.m. On May 1, the tryout will go from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. with check in starting at noon. There will be a nominal fee for playing, but scholarships are available.
