The Austin boys golf team finished in third place at the 14-team Hayfield Invite to open its season Saturday.

The Packers finished with a team score of 346, Blooming Prairie was second with a 344 and Triton won the meet with a 340.

“Today was one of the coldest days we have played in,” Austin head coach Matt Raso said. “I was really pleased with how the boys battled and grinded through the conditions. Getting four scores under 90 for the first meet of the year in tough conditions was nice to see.”
