Boys hockey: Packers get past Albert Lea

The Austin boys hockey team picked up a big 4-1 win at Albert Lea (9-16 overall, 6-14 Big Nine) on the road Thursday.

The Packers (7-13 overall, 4-12 Big Nine) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period and Isaac Arnold finished with two goals in the win.

“It’s a big win for us, it’s important and it’s a good team win,” Austin head coach Erik LaRock said. “I can’t remember the last time we beat Albert Lea.”

Noah Bawek had 30 saves for the Packers, who had 32 shots on goal.

Kory Potach and Alex Ciola had one goal for Austin, Jace Greenman had two assists, and Daniel Bollingberg, Evan McAlister, Brayden Merritt, Bryar Flanders and Jason Stoulil all had one assist.
