The Austin Public Schools Board will look relatively similar moving into its new year.

The board voted unanimously to keep board members Angie Goetz as chair, Don Fox as vice-chairman and Don Leathers as treasurer, and to make Peggy Young the new clerk, which used to be Mary Jane Kestner’s position, for 2016.

The board will present committee assignments at the board’s regularly scheduled meeting Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.

Herald named legal publisher

The school board also selected the Austin Daily Herald as the school’s legal publisher at a rate of $3.66 per column inch, a 5 percent increase from last year.

The Herald is also the city of Austin’s and Mower County’s legal publisher.
