The Austin wrestling team lost to Owatonna 58-9, but the it beat Winona 47-42 in Winona Friday.

The Packers (3-6 overall, 1-4 Big Nine) clinched the Winona match when freshman Elijah Marks picked up a pin in the heavyweight match.

Chance Brady went 2-0 with a pin for the Packers on the night and Jackson Hample had a big pin against Owatonna.

“Chance has made nice strides this season and continues to improve,” Austin head coach Jer Osgood said. “The Winona dual was a fight to the finish. This win was a total team effort with wrestlers continuously fighting back and forth for bonus points.”

Austin’s Gavin Brady, Caleb Tapp and Corey Waller all had pins for Austin in the win over Winona.
