Girls basketball: Blossoms show their depth in win over KW

The Blooming Prairie girls basketball team showed its depth and its defense as it downed Kenyon-Wanamingo (9-6 overall) 42-33 in BP Thursday.

BP (10-4 overall) had nine players score in the win and its top two scorers — Kalyn Naatz and Marissa Larson — were held to seven points total.

Kaci Gwilt, who recently returned to the BP lineup after knee surgery, hit a three-pointer to give the Blossoms a lead in the second half and she added a key baseline jump shot. Hannah Ahrens had two points and 13 rebounds for BP.

“Everyone in the lineup and on the bench did a great job tonight supporting and contributing as needed,” BP head coach John Bruns said. “It was a fun win to be a part of.”
