The Austin boys basketball team picked up its eighth straight win when it beat Rochester Mayo (4-14 overall, 4-11 Big Nine) 70-55 on the road Thursday.

Duoth Gach scored 21 points as he went 5-for-6 on three-pointers for the Packers (15-3 overall, 13-2 Big Nine) and Jace Murray had 11 points, three rebounds and four assists.

The Packers will host Northfield (12-7 overall, 9-6 Big Nine) in a Big Nine showdown in Packer Gym 7:30 p.m. Friday. The last time the Packers played Northfield, Oman Oman made a full-court, buzzer beating shot to win the game.
