Tyler Lee Burkey, 23, of Austin, Minnesota, died Friday afternoon, Dec. 18, 2015, at his home in Austin.

Tyler was born April 2, 1992, in Austin, Minnesota, the son of Timmy Lee and Kris (Dahlback) Burkey. He attended school in Austin, graduating in 2010. While attending Austin High School, Tyler played football and participated in weight lifting. He also enjoyed playing basketball with his friends.

Tyler is survived by his parents, Timmy and Kris Burkey, brother, Treigh Burkey, and sister, Tatem Burkey all of Austin, Minnesota; maternal grandfather, Robert Dahlback of Austin; aunts and uncles: James (Betsy) Burkey of Fairmont, Lori (Tom) Martin of Pine Island, and Darci (Tim) Martin of McHenry, Illinois; first cousins: Ashley, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Isaac, Jordan, Brooklyn, Blake, Ethan and Ashley; also many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Beverly (Bawek) Dahlback; and his paternal grandparents, Dillen and Lois (Brady) Burkey.

The Burkey Family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at the Worlein Funeral Home in Austin. A private family memorial service will follow. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Austin. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
