ST. PAUL — Police have located and arrested a St. Paul man charged with abducting and raping a 17-year-old former neighbor.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that 42-year-old Jesus Medina was arrested Monday in Forest Lake by St. Paul officers and a U.S. Marshal’s fugitive task force. He made his first court appearance Tuesday and bail was set at $200,000.

Medina was charged in July with kidnapping and first-degree sexual assault. A warrant was issued for Medina’s arrest when he was charged and police say he had been on the run since then.

A teenager who reported being kidnapped and raped in February picked Medina out of a photo lineup and realized he had previously rented a room downstairs in her family’s home.

It wasn’t immediately known whether Medina has an attorney.
