Carol Asleson, 75, of Austin, Minnesota, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, Minnesota.

Carol was born Aug. 19, 1940, in Rochester, Minnesota, to Melvin “Happy” and Ethel (Martin) Asleson. She grew up in Austin, graduating from Austin High School in 1958. After attending Austin Junior College for two years, Carol moved to Minneapolis where she lived for two years before moving back to Austin. She made Austin her home for over 72 years. An active member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Carol enjoyed serving on her class reunion committees, gardening and baking. She canned produce, mostly beet pickles, and she made peanut brittle that was enjoyed by many people.

Carol is survived by several cousins and many friends who will dearly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Ethel Asleson; as well as many aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with Todd Portinga, Associate in Ministry, officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at Worlein Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
