Richard ‘Dick’ Dean Zrucky, 81

Richard “Dick” Dean Zrucky, 81, of Byron, Minnesota, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Nov. 26, 2015, at Golden Living West in Rochester, Minnesota. He had lost his battle from recurrence of colon cancer.

Richard Zrucky was born Nov. 14, 1934, in Austin, Minnesota. He graduated from Austin High School and married LaVonne Anderson of Austin, Minnesota. They were married on June 19, 1954, and had celebrated 61 years of marriage last summer. He served in the Army from 1955 to 1958. He had worked for Coke Bottling Co. of Austin, Minnesota, and IBM of Rochester, Minnesota. He retired from IBM in 1992. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bingo, and traveling. He liked to watch the Minnesota Twins and Nascar. He loved to cook and that’s why Lavonne and him enjoyed entertaining family and friends. When he wasn’t cooking, he also enjoyed helping out neighbors in any way possible.

He is survived by daughter Tracie (Dave) Fogelson of Byron, Minnesota; son, Todd Zrucky of Spring Lake Park, Minnesota; son-in-law, Glenn Exe of Pine Island, Minnesota; sister, Mary Rousselow of Monticello, Minnesota; brother, Paul Zrucky of Austin, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Delmer Anderson of Austin, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Francis House of Austin, Minnesota; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by loving wife, Lavonne; daughter, Terri (Glenn) Exe; parents, Joe and Mabel Zrucky; sister-in-law, Phyllis (Francis) House; and sister-in-law, Mary (Delmer) Anderson.

He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at Macken Funeral Home River Park Chapel, Rochester, Minnesota. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Macken Funeral Home River Park Chapel, Rochester, Minnesota. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
