Seniors lead LP volleyball team past Goodhue

The No. 5 seeded Lyle-Pacelli volleyball team rallied to keep its season alive as it beat No. 4 Goodhue (15-12 overall) in five sets in a Section 1A West quarterfinal match in Goodhue Thursday.

LP (13-9 overall) prevailed by scores of 22-25, 25-19, 29-31, 25-20, 15-10.

LP had two of its seniors step up in a big way as Sarah Holtz racked up a career-best 28 kills and Courtney Walter had 51 set assists.

Abby Bollingberg came off the bench to serve eight points in the final set.

LP will now play top-ranked Faribault Bethlehem Academy in the Section 1A West semifinals in Mayo Civic Center in Rochester 1 p.m. Saturday.
