Published 9:17 am Thursday, October 29, 2015

The Southeast Minnesota Chapter of the American Red Cross would like to thank the many blood donors who helped make the October 2015 Austin Community Blood Drive a success. A total of 197 units were collected during the three-day draw. Congratulations to several donors who received milestone pins, including one 18-gallon and one 15-gallon; and to eight first-time donors.

A special thanks to the VFW and volunteers for their help with set-up and tear-down. Also thanks to the following businesses for their contributions and support: Austin Culvers, Austin Hy-Vee Food Store, Jim’s Marketplace Foods, Austin Daily Herald, Rochester Post Bulletin, KAUS Radio, and to all area businesses who help promote our blood drives. A special thanks to staff and members of the Austin National Guard Armory and to nursing students of Riverland Community College.

Mark your calendar for the next Austin Community Blood Drive scheduled for February 1-3, 2016. Contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767 or online at www.redcrossblood.org for more information or to schedule an appointment.
