Alumni Update: Austin grad provides solid hitting at Bethany Lutheran

Alex Hansen, a 2015 Austin grad, had 5 kills and 3 digs for Bethany Lutheran College in a 3-0 win over Crown College Oct. 20.
Hansen has 157 kills and 93 digs on the season for Bethany (5-17 overall).
Nicole Inwards, a 2015 Blooming Prairie grad, had 2 aces and 4 digs for Concordia-Chicago in a 3-0 loss to Benedictine University Oct. 20.
Inwards has 163 digs for the Cougars (9-14 overall) this season.
Abby Blanchard, a 2012 Hayfield grad, had 16 digs as Briar Cliff University beat Dakota Wesleyan 3-1 Oct. 14. Blanchard had 12 digs for the Chargers (14-8 overall) in 3-2 win over the College of St. Mary Flames Oct. 10.
Hayfield grad Jessie Foster has 40 kills, 156 digs and a team-high 701 set assists at RCTC this season. Hayfield grad Jo Bungum has 100 kills and 156 digs for the Yellowjackets (18-6 overall).
FOOTBALL
Southland grad Alan May had 6 catches for 51 yards in a 35-21 for Winona State University in a 35-21 loss to Upper Iowa Saturday.
On the season, May leads the Warriors (3-4 overall) with 45 catches for 629 yards and 5 TDs.
Grand Meadow grad Caleb Leichtnam had 8 tackles and an interception, which he ran back 27 yards in for Southwestern Minnesota State University in a 34-26 loss to Upper Iowa Saturday.
On the season, Leichtnam is second on the Mustangs (5-2 overall) with 50 tackles. He has 2 tackles for a loss, 3 interceptions, and five passes defensed.
HOCKEY
Austin grad Adam Maxfield is playing in the NA3HL this season.
Maxfield played in three games with the Gillette Wild, where he had 1 goal and 2 assists in three games and he’s now with the North Iowa Bulls, where he has 1 goal in three games.
Former Austin Bruin defenseman Christian Folin has played in four games for the Minnesota Wild this season. He has a plus one and has 2 penalty minutes.
CROSS COUNTRY
Austin grad McKenzie Besel is running cross country at Southwest Minnesota State University this season. Besel took 60th in the Bob Waxlax Invite with a time of 25:24 in the 6K race Oct. 9 for her best finish of the season.
