Get your scares early as Valleyfair in Shakopee, Minnesota has kicked off it’s ValleySCARE event — the largest Halloween event in the upper Midwest area.

With more than 75 rides, attractions and entertainment acts, there is something to satisfy everyone’s devilish desire.

The Halloween Haunt comes to life with nearly 400 creatures of the night, occupying more than a dozen of the intense and terrifying mazes and scare zones. Guests will also be able to enjoy many of their favorite thrill rides.

The Halloween Haunt is open 7 p.m. to midnight, Friday and Saturday nights through Oct. 31, as well as Thursday, Oct. 15. Halloween Haunt is not recommended for those under the age of 13.

 Other Halloween Haunt activities include:

•Skeleton Key – For an additional charge, guests will sign a waiver and receive a safe word before unlocking exclusive access to secret interactive rooms located within select mazes. Once inside, they will experience tight spaces, extreme situations and unforgettable encounters designed to test the boundaries of their worst fears.

•Blood Suckers Brew Bar – Guests 21 and older can escape the terror by stopping into this all-new vampire themed bar, featuring selections of beer, wine and cocktails.

During the day, tiny terrors can join Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang for some not-so-scary family fun at The Great Pumpkin Fest. Make your way through a corn maze, hear a Halloween tale from the Storytelling Witch or grab a map and stuff your treat bag on a trek across ValleySCARE. Plus, check out some exotic animals at our Cock-A-Doodle-Zoo petting zoo.

The Great Pumpkin Fest is open Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Nov. 1.

Tickets are available online or at the front gate and range in price from $29.99 plus tax to $48 plus tax. For more information, visit www.valleySCARE.com.
