Boys soccer: Packers get 4th shutout in win over KoMets

They haven’t exactly been piling on the goals, but the Packer boys soccer team keeps on winning.

The Austin stayed undefeated when it picked up its fourth shutout of the year when it blanked Kasson-Mantorville (3-2-1 overall) 1-0 in Kasson Monday.

The Packers (4-0-1 overall) held a 24-9 shot advantage and they finally got on the board when Ochan Ochogi scored on an assist from Matias Parada with 5:19 left in the game.

“We definitely dominated the possession,” Austin head coach Jens Levisen said. “The way the boys played tonight was probably better than I’ve seen them play recently. They really moved the ball well.”

Chris Kirchgatter has nine saves for the Packers to get his fourth shutout in net. KM tried to limit Austin’s scoring opportunities by marking forwards and and playing back, but Austin showed patience in the win.

“The guys didn’t get frustrated and they kept going,” Levisen said.
