ALBERT LEA — One person was taken to the hospital after a pickup truck struck a motorcycle Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of East Main Street and Ulstad Avenue in Albert Lea.

Albert Lea police stated the motorcycle, a 2006 Harley Davidson driven by Ricky Allen Severtson, 64, of Austin, was reportedly heading west on Main Street. A 1998 Dodge pickup driven by Yuko Worke, 65, of Albert Lea, was going to make a left-hand turn at the intersection of Main Street and Ulstad Avenue.

Worke reportedly waited for another vehicle to go by and then pulled out in front of the motorcycle, according to police.

Severtson was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with injuries deemed not life-threatening.

The motorcycle Severtson was driving sustained severe damage to the front of the motorcycle. The right rear of the pickup sustained moderate damage.

Worke was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

The crash was reported at 2:14 p.m.
