Executive Director Dr. Zigang Dong accepts on behalf of The Hormel Institute a $6,800 donation Tuesday from family members of the late Ryan Gordon to support the Institute’s world-class cancer research. The funds were raised through the third annual Ryan Gordon Memorial Golf Tournament and Silent Auction on June 20 at the Cedar River Golf Course in Adams. Pictured, from left, are Dr. Zigang Dong; Ryan’s parents, Roger and Shirley Gordon; and Ryan’s brother Chad Gordon. To date, the Ryan Gordon Memorial Golf Tournament has raised $15,300 in support for cutting-edge cancer research at The Hormel Institute in Austin. As with any gift to The Hormel Institute, 100 percent of the donation will directly fund cancer research.
