Graduations

—Stephanie Kocer of Austin graduated with bachelors degrees in journalism and English from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, on May 17.

—William DeHoogh of Adams received a BBA during the 2015 spring commencement at the University of North Dakota.

—Kimberly Trembley of Austin graduated from Carthage College and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work.

—Chelsea Holst, daughter of Leon and Shirley Holst of Dexter, participated in the commencement ceremony at the College of Saint Benedict on May 9 at the Clemens Field House on the CSB campus, St. Joseph, Minnesota. Holst is a candidate to receive a bachelor of science in nursing with the honor of magna cum laude.

—Abel Salazar, son of Carolina Contreras of Austin, participated in the commencement ceremony at Saint John’s University on May 10 in the Saint John’s Abbey and University Church, Collegeville, Minnesota. Salazar is a candidate to receive a bachelor of arts in global business leadership.

—Air Force Airman Taylor C. Weber, the son of Coleman and Deja Weber of Dexter, graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Weber is a 2013 graduate of Mayo Senior High School, Rochester.

—Jacob Hauschild of Sargeant, who graduated from Kasson-Mantorville High School, son of Paul and Kristi Hauschild, was honored for his induction into the Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, and the Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious academic honor society, at St. Olaf College.

—Halla Nelson of Austin has earned Semester Honors for the spring 2015 semester at Edgewood College.
