Edmund (Ed) Ihlow, 89, of Faribault, Minnesota, died on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, Faribault.

Edmund W., the son of Carl and Lena (Piepho) Ihlow, was born on Sept. 27, 1925, in Nerstrand. He married Bernadette Reichert on Feb. 12, 1947, in Faribault, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 1990. Ed served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, the Civil Defense Squad, and an Auxiliary Police Officer with the Austin Police Department. Ed was also a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Moose, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the V.F.W.

He is survived by two daughters: Virginia (and Richard) Curran of Dandridge, Tennessee, and Barbara Ihlow of Crystal; two granddaughters: Rebecca Ihlow Carter and Kathryn Baresh; three great-grandchildren: Dakotah and Mack Carter and Jasmin Baresh; and one brother, Gerald (and Phyllis) Ihlow of Las Vegas, Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernadette; one brother; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at 2 p.m. with Jenny Goodwin, pastoral minister of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Faribault, officiating. Interment will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault. Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault for one hour prior to the services.
