First team

Jackie Sanvick, pitcher, Hayfield

The junior led the Vikings to their first Class A state tournament berth since 1994 in her first full season as a starting pitcher. Sanvick had an ERA of 2.57 in 169 innings pitched. She struck out 73, walked 43 and allowed 169 hits.

 

Sydney Murphy, catcher, Austin

The senior hit .453 with four homers, eight doubles and 13 RBIs. Murphy struck out just four times and had just one error all season. Murphy played in the Minnesota State High School All Star Series.

 

Kyal Heydt, shortstop, Hayfield

The freshman hit .372 with an on-base percentage of .471 and she compiled four homers, one triple, 11 doubles and 32 RBIs.

Bhrett Zahlne, second baseman, Hayfield

The senior hit .378 with an on-base percentage of .426 with four homers, one triple, four doubles and 25 RBIs. Zahnle played in the Minnesota All-Star Series and she was selected to play in the Border Battle against Wisconsin teams.

 

Carrie Rutledge, third base, Hayfield

The freshman hit .426 with an on-base percentage of .500 to go with four triples, three doubles and eight RBIs. Rutledge was only able to play as a pinch runner in the postseason for the Vikings after she sustained an injury.

 

Grace Mindrup, first base, Hayfield

The junior played catcher this season for the Vikings, but she has played first base in the past. Mindrup hit .538 with an on-base percentage of .594, with three homers, one triple, nine doubles and 34 RBIs.

 

Maggie Streightiff, outfield, Hayfield

The freshman hit .347 with an on-base percentage of .383 to go with one homer, one triple, six doubles and 24 RBIs.

Tessa Ivers, outfield, Blooming Prairie

Although she has played catcher for the past two seasons, Ivers was a standout outfielder on BP’s state championship team in 2013. The senior hit .481 with four doubles and 11 RBIs. Ivers was 22-for-25 on stolen bases.

 

McKenna Hein, outfield, Blooming Prairie

The freshman hit .353 with three doubles, two triples and 16 RBIs.

 

Honorable mention

Jordan Huntley, first base, Austin

The junior hit .371 with two homers, four doubles and 18 RBIs.

 

Shayley Vesel, shortstop, Austin

The junior hit .338 with one homer, six doubles and 13 RBIs.

 

Alexis Dudycha, outfield, Hayfield

The freshman hit hit .333 with an on-base percentage of .392 and she added five doubles, a triple and 15 RBIs.

 

Sam Emanuel, third base, Southland

Emanuel, who was a pitcher for the Rebels, hit .352 with and on-base percentage of .500 and she had 6 doubles and 16 RBIs. The senior had an ERA of 4.20 and she struck out 71.

 

Kayla Swenson, shortstop, Southland

The junior hit .369 with an on-base percentage .481 and she added one triple, 7 doubles, nine stolen bases and 12 RBIs.

 

Abby Bollingberg, catcher, Lyle-Pacelli

The eighth grader hit .395 with one doubles and 10 stolen bases.

 

Danielle Hinz, outfield, Lyle-Pacelli

The sophomore hit .452 with one homer, four doubles and one triple.

 

Elly Strunk, pitcher, Blooming Prairie

The sophomore was had an ERA of 5.14 and she struck out 95 in 119 innings. Strunk hit .423 with nine doubles and one triple to go along with 25 RBIs.

 

Anika Nowlan, outfield, Blooming Prairie

The junior hit .368 with a triple and six RBIs.

 

Abby Wayne, second, base, Blooming Prairie

The junior hit .354 with a triple and 10 RBIs.

 

Bria Baldwin, outfield, Blooming Prairie

The sophomore hit .347 with one homer, one triple, three double and 15 RBIs.
