Scholarships

—Western Fraternal Life Lodge No. 38 Austin member Eleanor Haeska received the $1,000 Western Fraternal Life National Scholarship. She will attend Creighton University to pursue a Doctorate in Pharmacology with a focus on Geriatric Pharmacy. She hopes to work with the elderly in a care center or assisted living facility. Haeska has a natural connection and passion for working with the elderly. Eventually, she would like to explore the engineering, testing, and manufacturing side of new pharmaceuticals as well.

—Weston Myer is the 2015 recipient of the Arkema Blooming Prairie Plant Scholarship Award. This award is presented each year to a qualifying graduating senior from Blooming Prairie High School. The award is for $4,000, with $2,000 of the award paid at the time of high school graduation and the remaining $2,000 awarded at the successful completion of the first college year with the intention of enrolling for a second year. This scholarship award is designed to encourage graduating seniors to enter selected fields of science or engineering. The award was presented to Myer by Blooming Prairie Plant Manager David Price at the Blooming Prairie High School’s Awards Night on May 13.
