What does summertime look like? Long bike rides, lazy afternoons reading on the grass, or sunning on a sandy beach?

For works that call to mind this beloved season, the Minnesota Museum of American Art combed their permanent collection to find art that exudes the essence of summer.

“Summertime” will feature painting, photography, prints, craft, video, and contemporary dance. Visitors to the exhibition are sure to see images that evoke memories of past summers or inspire a stroll through the sunflowers.
