The Hunger Games inspired more in Austin students than a fan-base. The Austin High School National Honor Society was inspired to put together an annual food drive with the same title.

Austin High School’s National Honor Society is holding its third annual Hunger Games – Fighting Against Hunger on March 16 through the 20. Students are asked to donate food items or cash for the local food shelf. March is also Food Share Month and a great time to help fill the food shelves, so the NHS would like to invite the community to join its Hunger Games initiative. Food or cash donations can be dropped off anytime during the day in the Superintendent’s Office at Austin High School — door three on north side of AHS — otherwise donors can call a group member to pick up the donation at 460-1900 to arrange a convenient time. The NHS encourages people to join its efforts to help fill the community’s food shelves for those in need.
