Get to Know: Austin senior Sydney Murphy

Sydney Murphy is a senior catcher on the Austin softball team. She also played soccer and basketball for the Packers this year.

A: Playing backyard baseball with the neighbor kids and my family.

Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?

A: Winning nationals in Kansas City last summer with the Rochester Royals.

Q: What have you learned from playing sports?

A: I have learned how to work well with others and how to work hard.

Q: What is the hardest part about your sport?

A: The hardest part about softball is to stay mentally focused the entire game and shaking off an error when you make one.

Q: Who is your biggest sports role model and why?

A: Joe Mauer, he is a very good hitter and he’s home grown talent.

Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show?

A: Grey’s Anatomy.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: Science.

Q: What is your dream job?

A: My dream job is to be a physical therapist.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Ham, Cream Cheese, and Pickle Roll ups
