A 16-year-old Austin teen was cited for drinking and driving after he got into a car accident late Tuesday.

Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger said the teen stopped at the intersection of Main Street and Second Avenue Southwest at about 9 p.m. Tuesday before he pulled out and was struck by another car.

The teen’s car, a Ford Mustang, ended up hitting a light pole while the other vehicle, a Chevy Avalanche driven by a 31-year-old Austin man, spun out.
