Robert Lee Rohne, 75, of Lyle, Minnesota, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at Adams Health Care Center.

Robert was born Jan. 31, 1940, to Arthur and Alice (Peterson) Rohne in Austin, Minnesota. He attended Pine Hurst Country School at 4-years-old and graduated valedictorian from the Lyle High School in 1957, then attended one year at Luther College for veterinary medicine. Robert married Mary Lou Fletcher on Oct. 1, 1966. To this union three children were born. He was a dairy farmer his whole life, served in the National Guard for six years, and was on the Stacyville Creamery Board for a number of years. He served as a Nevada Township 4-H leader and was a softball coach for many years. Robert was a member of Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church. He enjoyed being a member of many bowling leagues and even bowled at the Adams Nursing Home and had many strikes. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes, cards and pool with family and friends. His passion was collecting toy tractors (mostly red ones) and traveling. His favorite trip was to Connecticut to see Troy, Amy and Harry. No cows to worry about – and he had a really good time. Robert’s favorite TV shows were westerns and sports. On June 2, 2013, he had a brain aneurism and was convalescing at the Adams Health Care Center where he put up a really good fight for his life. Robert will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife Mary Lou Rohne of Lyle, Minnesota; a daughter Connie (Tracey) Murphy of Austin, Minnesota; two sons: Scott Rohne of Prior Lake, Minnesota, and Troy (Amy) Rohne of New York, New York; four grandchildren: Sydney and Nate Murphy of Austin, Minnesota, Ben Rohne of Prior Lake, Minnesota, and Harry Rohne of New York, New York; two brothers: Eugene Rohne of Lyle, Minnesota, and Terry (Nancy) Rohne of Austin, a sister-in-law Jan Rohne of St. Ansgar, Iowa; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Bonnie Fletcher of Albert Lea, Minnesota; many nieces, nephews; cousins, other relatives and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Harlan.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, at the Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church in rural Lyle, Minnesota, with Pastor Glenn Monson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, Minnesota, and one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
