BP ended LP’s season in the subsection semifinals last year and the two teams could meet in the upcoming Section 1A West tournament again, but on Tuesday the Athletics (21-3 overall) put on a shooting display as they went 7-for-11 on 3-pointers.

Freshman Brooke Walter went 4-for-5 on 3-pointers as she finished with 15 points for LP. Walter hit three straight 3-pointers in one stretch in the second half as LP built its lead up to 17 points.

“We played a team and we were all on the same page. We played with tremendous unselfishness and patience on offense,” LP head coach Justin Morris said. “At the end of the day, Blooming Prairie is a great basketball team and this is a big win, but in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t mean anything if we don’t we don’t play well in the playoffs.”

Nicole Inwards led BP (21-3 overall) with eight points.
