Six local women will be honored at a dinner March 23.

The Zonta Club of Austin will host a dinner at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center on March 23. The dinner will honor women from Mower County that have been nominated by family, friends or co-workers. This year there are six nominees and one of them will be declared the Mower County “Woman of Achievement.” They are: Lori Espe, Jana Gray, Gina Grundmeier, Rachel Knutson, Kristin Olson and Peggy Young. The public is encouraged to come and support these women.

Money raised from this fundraiser will help with scholarships given on a yearly basis from the Zonta Club. They are: the Zonta Non-Traditional Scholarship at Riverland Community College, Young Woman in Public Affairs award for a high-school student, the Jane M. Klausman, Woman in Business award for a college student, and the GED program for non-traditional students.
