Eugene Arnold LaChapelle, Sr., 79, of Mona, succumbed to cancer at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015.

Eugene was born on Dec. 22, 1935, to Jerome and Lena LaChapelle in White Earth, Minnesota.

He is survived by his wife Linda LaChapelle; daughter Denise (Dan) Boerjan; sons: Gene LaChapelle, Robert(Tami Jensen) LaChapelle, Richard (Kathy) LaChapelle, Kevin (Denise) LaChapelle; stepsons: Jim Reams, Gene (Sandy) Reams, Lee Reams, David (Alison) Reams; 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; first wife Elayne LaChapelle; son, Jerry LaChapelle; brother Doyle LaChapelle.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, at Queen of Peace Church, Lyle, Minnesota, with Father Swaminatha Pothrieddy officiating. Burial will be Woodburry Cemetery, Lyle, at a later date. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, is in charge of arrangements.
