Austin boys hockey team falls 4-2 to Panthers

The Austin boys hockey team couldn’t hang on to a one-goal lead in the third period as it lost 4-2 at Rochester Century Thursday.

The Panthers (12-7-2 overall, 9-5 Big Nine) tied the game at 2-2 early in the third period and they tacked on two more goals to put it away. Austin had led 2-0 in the second period after Blake Halsey scored a goal.

Daniel Bollingberg scored a goal in the first period on an assist from Kenny Ree.

“They’re a great team and we played right with them for most of the game,” Austin head coach Erik LaRock said. “We’ve got to find a way to come through in the third period.”

Jacob Johnson had 32 saves for Austin (3-18-1 overall, 0-14-1 Big Nine), which had 19 shots on goal.
