The Austin Packer dance team took fifth place at in the Class A high kick finals in Target Center in Minneapolis Saturday and Austin head coach Kayla Sellers couldn’t be much happier.

Sellers said her squad answered the call in the preliminaries to make the top-six in finals and she was pleased with how they performed there as well.

“They were amazing.  They blew me away on Saturday.  We danced as one, left it all on the floor and walked away with no regrets,” Sellers said. “I could not be more proud of them. The caliber of dance teams in Minnesota is so high. We are honored to be a part of the top six teams in the state.”

The Packers have competed in 13 straight state meets, but they will graduate another solid group of seniors. Austin took second in the Big Nine in high kick and it also won the Section 1A title this past season.

“We are graduating an amazing group of young women this year,” Sellers said. “Their leadership, drive, talent and passion will be truly missed.  They will be leaving an impressive legacy.”
