Veronica Lucille Kvasnicka was born on Dec. 13, 1926, in Owatonna to Joseph and Stella Kvasnicka. She grew up on a farm in Pratt and graduated from Owatonna High School. Veronica worked in Washington, D.C. as a secretary for the Department of Defense during World War II. She later worked for the U.S. Post Office in Blooming Prairie and Rochester, and also worked in the radiology department at the Mayo Clinic, retiring from there in 1990. In 1947, Veronica married Harland McGuiness, and her first child was born the following year. In 1954, she married Howard Underwood and seven children were born to this union. She married Kenneth Zoller in 1992 and he preceded her in death in August of 2014 at the age of 100. ‘Roni’ and Ken spent their early years of marriage in Longville in Northern Minnesota. She loved to cook and bake, and together they enjoyed dancing, long walks, gardening, fishing, golfing, playing cards and dice, and most of all spending time with their family and friends. She always credited their longevity to all the fish they caught and ate. They later lived in Owatonna, Harmony, and Rochester. Roni had a deep faith and lived her life accordingly.

Veronica is survived by her seven children: Dan (Nan) McGuiness of St. Paul, Mary K. Underwood (Ben Henderson) of Boone, North Carolina, Pat (Mary Beth) Underwood of Rochester, Laurie Bienko of Deep Gap, North Carolina, Jack (Kim) Underwood of Austin, Joan Underwood of Deep Gap, North Carolina, and Kathy (Dick) Goodman of Rochester. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Molly, Kati, Sev, Patrick, Hector, Jesse, Kelly, Dustin, Jaime, Domenick, Howie, Haley, and Alexa; four great-grandchildren; and one brother Don (Joanne) Kvasnicka of Mankato, Minnesota.
