Hayfield girls basketball team beats Lake City behind Bungum’s 21 points

The Hayfield girls basketball team beat Lake City (7-6 overall, 4-4 HVL) 59-52 on the road Friday.
The Vikings (11-4 overall, 6-3 HVL) led 32-11 early on, but they didn’t score in the last six minutes of the first half as the Tigers closed to within six points at the half.
Jo Bungum, who scored 21 points, had 17 points in the first half for Hayfield.
“Jo had a real nice first half,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said.
