Austin gymnastics team takes seventh at ‘true team’ state meet

The Austin gymnastics team took seventh out of 10 teams at the Class A state ‘true team’ meet in Melrose Saturday.
The Packers had a team score of 139.65 and Detroit Lakes won the meet with a 149.575. Austin’s Maddie Mullenbach took third in the all-around competion.
Austin senior Carolyn Hackel returned to the lineup after being out with an injury since early in the season, but the Packers competed without senior Abby Bickler, who is out for the season with an injury.
“We had a fairly decent day,” Austin head coach Alex Bade said. “Kids are trying to find ways to step up and get better every day.”

Beam: Mullenbach (fourth, 9.475)

All-Around: Mullenbach (third, 36.95)
