Board OKs raises for attorney, sheriff, recorder; Commissioner’s salaries stay at $24,200

Several of Mower County’s returning elected officials will see pay raises in 2015.

The county board voted to freeze the commissioners salaries at the 2008 level of $24,200, while approving pay raises for all other returning elected officials. The board also approved a 2 percent increase for nonunion employees, and froze the commissioner’s per diem rate.

The board voted to:

• Increase Sheriff Terese Amazi’s salary from $94,834.94 to $96,731.64.

• Increase County Attorney Kristen Nelsen’s salary from $103,059.33 to $106,143.23.

• Increase Recorder Jill Cordes’ salary from $58,378.11 to $61,177.25.

• Set newly-elected Auditor-Treasurer Steven Reinartz’s salary at $56,413.55.
