Alumni Update: Area grads playing college basketball

Austin grad Tom Aase played eight minutes and had 2 points and 2 rebounds in an 81-76 loss to Dakota State for the University of Sioux Falls Nov. 24.

Aase has played in two games for the Cougars (1-2 overall) and is averaging 10.5 minutes per contest.

Austin grad Zach Wessels has played in two contests for USF as well and he is averaging 7.5 minutes per contest. Wessels has scored 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in those games.

Austin grad Joe Aase played eight minutes and scored 2 points in Minnesota State University’s 86-62 win over Waldorf College Nov. 22.

Aase has played in two games for the Mavericks (3-1 overall) and he’s averaging 7.5 minutes per contest. He has 4 rebounds on the season.

Austin grad Ajuda Nywesh is averaging 10.3 points, 3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 2 steals per game for Lake Region State College (9-0 overall). Making his first start of the season, Nywesh scored 10 points on 3-of-5 shooting in a 65-60 win over Dakota Technical College Nov. 22.

Austin grad Bret Lukes made his debut with Hamline University in a 74-55 win over Crown College Nov. 25. Lukes had one steal after coming off the bench in the win for Hamline (3-0 overall).

Austin grad Goliath Oboyo has played in one game for UW-Eau Claire (2-2 overall) this season and he has yet to score a point.

Hayfield grad Cole Kruger has played in two games this season for Upper Iowa (3-1 overall). Kruger has yet to score, but he had 2 rebounds and 1 assist in a 93-64 win over Waldorf Nov. 19.

Southland grad Jana Schammel has played in six games for Kaskaskia College in Illinois this season. Schammel, who missed all of last season with an injury, is averaging 5.2 points per game, while playing 4.2 minutes per contest.

Schammel had 6 points, 2 assists and 2 steals in a 75-72 win over Three Rivers Community College.

Hayfield grad Jessie Foster and Grand Meadow grad Audra Durhman are both playing at RCTC.

Durhman had 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in an 84-73 win over Milwaukee Area Tech. and

Foster had 7 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds in that contest.

Durhman is averaging 13 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game for RCTC (2-1 overall) in three games.

Foster is averaging 7.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4 assists per game in two games.

Former Lyle-Pacelli standout Ann Rysavy has played 1 minute this season for UW-Stout (1-4 overall).
