MANKATO, — A Minnesota State community adviser charged with breaking into a dorm room and pepper spraying a woman faces more felony charges.

Twenty-year-old Alexander Gowan-Nuehring (GOW’-un NEH’-ring) is now accused of trying to drug a student with a substance he knew could harm her.

The Free Press of Mankato reports Gowan-Nuehring told police he broke into the woman’s room on Friday, the day after he heard her tell advisers about her penicillin allergy, and poured eight crushed penicillin pills into her water bottle.

Gowan-Nuehring told police he texted the woman to confirm she had left. He said he didn’t intend to hurt her.

KTOE-AM reports the woman returned after the weekend and noticed the bottle’s water was cloudy.
