The No. 12 seeded Austin girls tennis team lost its Section 1AA tournament opener at No. 5 Hastings 5-2 Tuesday.

Megan Fleiner won for the Packers (2-14 overall) at No. 2 singles and the No. 1 doubles team of Jennifer Bogle and Elizabeth Ettinger won as well.

“I am really proud of all the hard work the girls put in this season. We ended the season with two great, well-fought victories at number two singles and number one doubles,” Austin head coach Levon Larson said. “It has been a great pleasure coaching many of these girls for the past four years; it will be difficult to see them go.”
