A 43-year-old Austin man trapped under a bus was taken by helicopter to Mayo Clinic — St. Marys Campus in Rochester Friday afternoon.

Steven Lonergan was repairing a bus with his son in Rose Creek when the vehicle’s rear, already suspended, crashed down while Lonergan was installing a drive shaft, according to Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi. Lonergan was pinned beneath the bus.

Emergency personnel were called to the scene at around 4:24 p.m. and transported Lonergan by Mayo One soon after. Amazi said Lonergan’s condition was unknown as of Monday morning.
